About

We listen, act, and transform

Life sometimes presents us with challenges that can feel overwhelming and cause deep emotional pain. Working from a strength-based perspective, individuals can explore their resiliency and tap into their authenticity. Individual therapy provides people with a safe place to vocalize their struggles, needs, wants, and values. It allows growth and healing to occur while encouraging positive change within individuals and their lives. I use a strength-based approach while integrating attachment theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, and trauma-focused therapy. I believe people are their own best advocates and have the power to lead their lives. I specialize in working with women struggling with grief, trauma, major life transitions, and relationships. We work from a strength-based and attachment theory perspective, looking closely at what maladaptive behaviors may hinder your growth and what strengths you can find support and security in. My hope is that every client feels relaxed and safe when speaking with me and that we tap into our sense of humor every so often! The best way to reach me is via email. I use the Headway platform to take most of the insurances listed on my profile (except Carelon/Partnership and Medicare). Please create an account through Headway and contact me to schedule an appointment. I am now accepting ASW supervisees. Please email me at heatherjschwartz@mac.com.
